The author discusses difficulties in moral ethical education in the transformation from a Soviet ideological system to an independent democratic system. Christianity as a basis for a new system of education of Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel is proposed. The author describes increased spirituality in the army. The roles of religious organizations, church, and parachurch organizations (non-church affiliated organizations such as the Military Christian Fellowship of Ukraine), are suggested. The effect of military disciple and Christian values on the fighting spirit of soldiers is discussed. Problems of joint cooperation between the church and the army do exist, but unity also exists in the desire to revive the spirituality of the nation.
