Dear Friends and Prayer Partners:
Boy is it hard to keep up with so much happening! On Sunday Group
3, the group we are with, gathered at the US Army War College
Memorial Chapel for Sunday School and the morning service. The
service was preceded by a 15 minute time of worship led by the
Praise Team. The children's sermon on expiration dates on food
containers versus no expiration date on life with Jesus was appreciated
by the adults as much as by the children. Bob joined one children's
church groups and told a parable about Pino Chiquitito (his jungle
buddy as a missionary kid) and the wairanga wasps. After church
we left for New York City, and although delayed by construction
and a holdup in the Holland tunnel, arrived in time for the Spanish
church service in Flushing. Everyone on the team had a chance
to participate in the service and fellowship time. Afterwards
all team members except Bob and BJ were taken for a tour of Manhattan
until 2:00 AM! Bob stayed up talking with the pastor until well
after midnight. Before we left this morning the pastor (Rev Juan
Valenzuela, former AMCF VP for Latin America) shared how God led
in the formation of the MCF of Chile and Chilean participation
in the spread of MCFs throughout Latin America. Today, Monday,
our team drove to West Point where we had wonderful fellowship
and food with Barry and Barb Willey, the OCF staff here. Now we
are all trying to get to bed early for a much needed night of
sleep.
In the mean time Bernie and Sara Sparrow, the delegates in Group 2 representing Africa during this Interaction, learned of the disappearance in North Carolina of their son Oscar. Foul play appears probable, and the Group returned to Washington, DC so that Sparrows could get their car and return to North Carolina. Please join all of us in praying for them and for the police as they investigate the matter. Due to communication problems we regret that we cannot give you more information on the activities of Groups 1 and 2 at this time. PLEASE KEEP ON PRAYING. SATAN IS ALIVE AND WELL, BUT GOD IS GREATER!!!!!!!!
